WGC - Mexico Championship
February 2017
Lee travelled to Mexico on Monday where he was given a police escort to the hotel for his 56th WGC appearance.
The WGC Mexico Championship takes place at Club de Golf Chapultepec, just outside Mexico City. The clubhouse sits approximately 7,780 feet above sea level and because of the atmospheric conditions, the golf ball is expected to travel 10 to 15 percent further.
Lee had a 12.31 (GMT-6) tee-time from the 10th with Kevin Na and Marcus Fraser and ended the day in a 6-way tie for lead. He was in sole lead on 6 under but bogeyed his 17th and overshot the last into a bunker for a bogey to take him back to 4-under par (67).
Carding a 71 in the second round, Lee lies in T15th place on 4-under.
He went out in par on the front nine on Saturday but 5 birdies on the way home saw him end the round with a 5 -under 66 and now 9 under for the tournament, in 5th place on the leaderboard.
Following a final round of 78, Lee finished T28th on the leaderboard on 2-under par. Dustin Johnson won the event on 14-under par.
