This year's US Open takes place at Oakmont Country Club.

Lee's best finish so far, in this event, is third in 2008 at Torrey Pines, California. Last year he finished T50th at Chambers Bay.

Grouped with Luke Donald and Martin Kaymer, Lee had an 8.13 (local time) start from the 10th and was in T2nd place on 2 under par (at his 9th hole), when play was suspended due to inclement weather. Lee played an eagle at 14 and ended his day at the 4th hole on -1 and in T4th place. Lee completed his first round on Friday adding birdies at the last two holes to take him to 3-under par. He carded a 72 for the second round and joined Louis Oosthuizen and Lee Slattery for a third round tee time of 4.28 from the first hole.He finished the round in T4th place after shooting a 69. A disappointing round of 80, in the final round, saw Lee fall to T32nd on 8 over par.
