The Players Championship

The Players Championship kicks off with a Military Appreciation Day on Tuesday evening at  Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra Beach in Florida.

This is Lee's 11th Players Championship  event. He has missed the cut in three and had a top ten finish in five of them (T4 in 2010, T5 in 1998, T6 in 1999 T8 in 2013 and T6th last year ).

Lee had a first round tee-time of 7.25 from the first on Thursday (12.35 from the 10th on Friday) with Carl Pettersson and Shawn Stefani. He signed for a 4 over 76 and is in danger of missing the cut.

"Hopefully play a bit better today. Maybe make a few more birdies might help!", he tweeted.

Lee played well on the outward nine, where he made five birdies (three in a row) and a bogey, to take him back to even par, but the two bogeys on the back nine cost him dearly and he missed the cut.
