US Open
June 2015
Lee is back in the US this week for the US Open at Chambers Bay on the Pacific Northwest coast. With "rolling fairways, towering dunes, undulating greens and unpredictable coastal winds", the event will be a stern test for the players.
His best finish so far, in this event, is third in 2008 at Torrey Pines, California.
In the 42nd group, he had a 2.17 start from the 10th with Billy Horschel and Paul Casey on Thursday and 8.17 from the 1st on Friday.
Recording a 3-over 73 on the par 70 course. Lee made five bogeys between the 4th and 15th holes, but birdies at 17 and 18 helped to reduce the fallout on this difficult course. He lies in T79th place. He carded a second round 69 with six birdies, two bogeys and a triple bogey on the 18th, moving up 34 places to T28th.
"Played great today. Shame about 18. I know I made triple but it's a stupid par 4 and a great par 5".
Playing alongside Ollie Schniederjans and following a third round score of 77, Lee had an 8.50 start with Sam Saunders on Sunday, adding an even par 70 to his card. He ended the event in T50th position on 9 over par.
Jordan Spieth won the title on 5-under par.
