Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship 2022

Lee has already been in the area for the past week. This week he takes part in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship which takes place from Thursday at the Yas Links Abu Dhabi. Lee won the event in 2020.

He played the 1st round at 7.30 (local) from the 10th with Rory McIlroy and last year's winner Tyrrell Hatton. He made a birdie at the 15th, a double bogey at 16 and then birdies at 18, 2,3,6 and 7 until he bogeyed the 8th for 1-under par (71).  The leader after the first round (at present) is Scott Jameson on 9-under par. The players who were unable to complete the round,  did so when play resumed at 7.45 on Friday.

Lee had a second round tee-time at 12.20 ( 8.20 our time) with his group but had three bogies and a birdie for a 74. He is now 1-over par.

Lee had a 10.10 start from the 10th with Santiago Tarrio and Ewen Ferguson and was four under on his front nine but made 3 bogies and a birdie on  the way home (2 under 70 ) , making him 1 under for the event. Scott Jamieson is still in the lead on 11-under.

Lee had a final tee-time of 9.28 with Thomas Detry and Ricardo Gouveiva and shot 3 birdies and a bogie on the front nine and a further birdie on the back nine. His score earned him 4 under par and a top 20 finish.

Thomas Pieters won on 10-under par as Scott Jamieson fell away when he shot 5-over for his round.
