144th Open Championship

July 2015

The 144th Open Championship takes place on the Old Course at St Andrews from 16th July.

Lee missed the cut last year, when he played at Hoylake, but his best finishes so far were 2nd in 2010 and T3 in 2009 and 2013.

He has a 9.11 start on Thursday with Sergio Garcia and Patrick Reed. Four under by the 14th hole, Lee felt that "It was a bit of a shame, I cooled down and stiffened up a bit and bogeyed the last three holes," after a boy picked up JB Holmes ball, causing a long hold up for a ruling. He ended the day in T41st place.

Lee was due to tee off at 14.12 on Friday but a six hour weather delay saw him complete his round late on Saturday. A second round 73 saw him just make the cut, set at even par. Weather delays will see the final round being completed on Monday.

Adding a third round 69 to his card,Lee lies in T57th place on 3-under par.

Lee finished the event on Monday with a final round of 71 and in T49th place on the leaderboard. He then flew to Switzerland for the Omega Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre.

In a three-way play-off Zach Johnson became the new Open Champion for 2015.
