Taking place at Wentworth Golf Club this week, Lee's best finish was in 2011 when he lost to Luke Donald in a playoff.

He is grouped with Thomas Bjorn and Danny Willett, teeing off at 13.05 from the 1st on Thursday and 9.10 on Friday.

He signed for a 1-under 71 for the first round. Lee's fate was sealed when he had a triple bogey at the last and was 6-over for the day.

His five over for the event saw him miss the cut.

Hopefully he will recover from his chest infection in time for the Dunhill.
