Lee returned to Le Golf National in Paris for the 100th Open de France. He has had four top-10 finishes in eleven appearances at the Open de France and in 2009, came close to winning the title at Le Golf National, when he lost to Martin Kaymer in a play-off. He missed the cut last year on 5-over par.
Teeing off at 13.20 from the 1st on Thursday with Gregory Bourdy and Danny Willett, he carded a 74, with his only birdie of the day at the first hole. With an earlier start of 8.20 (GMT+2), from the 10th on Friday, he played the outward nine in 37 but played a hattrick of birdies from the 2nd hole. Recording a round of 70, he lies in T43rd place and joins Thomas Bjorn for a third round tee-time of 9.45.
Lee ended the third round in T10th following a round of 67, which included two bogeys and six birdies. He had a final tee-time of 13.05 with Brandon Stone and had a T11th finish for the event after carding a 72.
