BMW PGA Championship

May 2016

Lee travels to Wentworth this week for his 23rd straight appearance at the BMW PGA Championship, where he finished T38th last year. His best finish so far, was a play-off with Luke Donald in 2011.

"Obviously it's a big week for any European Tour player, but I think especially the ones from Britain. We don't play too many tournaments in front of home fans nowadays, and I guess after The Open Championship, this is the next biggest thing. It's nice to play in front of a home gallery and all those cheers. The crowds really get behind the home players this week", he said.

"I'm a lot happier with my game than I have been for quite some time. I started working with Pete Cowen again at Houston and it had a pretty immediate effect. We just did a couple of hours there and then an hour at the Masters and I think that showed at Augusta. Started hitting the ball a lot straighter and iron shots were a lot better.

Did a bit of work with Bob Rotella on the putting green at Augusta, as well. He seemed to free me up a little bit and rolled a few more putts in there. Just feel a lot more aggressive but a lot more calm on the greens, and my short game's good, as well. So there's no reason why I shouldn't be playing well and scoring well, this week, really".

He plays with Jeunghun Wang and Soren Kjeldson for the first two rounds with a 12.50 start on Thursday and carding a 1-under 71 for T33rd place He has an 8.25 tee-time on Friday.

Lee birdied 11 and at the 12th chipped in for eagle to get to four under. He dropped shots at 15 and 16 but got one back at the 17th, finishing the day on 2-under par 70 and 3-under for the event (T19th).

He had an 11.50 Saturday tee-time with Thomas Pieters where he played a bogey free round of 4-under par (68). He lies in T3rd place on 7-under par. Lee had a final round tee-time of 13.05 with Y E Yang, recording a 4-over 76, which saw him finish T15th place on 3-under par.

Chris Wood was the winner of the event.
